The fit we hope to find 

SafeSize is looking for a seasoned C-level leader, a strategic thinker and someone who excels in “getting things done” in an entrepreneurial environment. This position will work from our Almere- office in the Netherlands (close to Amsterdam) or in Athens, Greece. Our innovative solution is used by thousands of retailers worldwide and we are growing our customer base and further optimizing our product at a fast pace. In this journey, a highly driven and experienced Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution and success of our sales and operations globally. This role is part of the SafeSize Executive Team. You are responsible for the sales and operations teams located in the Netherlands, Slovenia, Greece, China, Australia and the US. What you'll do

This role consists of leading the two customer-centric departments at SafeSize which drive our growth: Sales and Operations. From this position, you maintain significant and close interaction with the CFO, CEO and other members of the Executive Team, to develop key operating assumptions and growth plans for the business.

1. Commercial strategy and implementation

Managing the sales team and sales processes – both to new (business development) and existing accounts (account management). This includes:

  • Defining, managing, overseeing and improving business development and account management strategy, including enhancing sales performance, both in volume (number of deals) and quality (size and value of deals).
  • Monitoring and reporting sales results and developing the key sales metrics.
  • Serving as the primary point person for all sales-related efforts at Safesize, such as improving sales discipline, institutionalizing use of best practice sales methodologies and developing and executing against our growth forecasts.
  • Analyzing sales results, trends, pipelines and forecasting to ensure predictable results and growth and translating this into a clear vision and daily sales tactics.
  • Building and motivating the sales team.

2. Operations strategy and implementation

  • Manage, monitor and improve operations team and operational processes. This includes:
    • delivery management (implementations of our solutions with customers)
    • success management (including training of stores)
    • customer support
    • logistics
  • Monitor, report and improve operational KPIs with our customers in order to drive value for them as well as ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Work together with CPO and Product Team to provide feedback from the market / customers on needs for new products and product improvements.
  • Build a scalable Operations organization and processes, including establishing new hubs outside of Europe.
  • Build and motivate the Operations team.

Job requirements

What you bring:

  • At least 5+ years of experience in a COO or CCO- role in a high paced environment, preferably at a scale-up.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS deals, having negotiated, signed and managed deals of +1M ARR.
  • High levels of analytical horsepower and ability to turn analysis into insight and actions.
  • Experience with building and managing sales teams and proven track record with growing the business.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the retail and/or technology industry.
  • A love for travelling and willingness to travel up to 40% of your work time.
  • Outstanding leadership skills, with a natural talent for sharing vision, setting up strategy and building teams.
  • A can-do mentality, with the ability to act quickly if needed and a desire to achieve high level results.
  • Exceptional skills when it comes to planning and prioritization, problem solving, scaling organizations, and in translating these to the team.
