SafeSize is post–product-market fit, with a proven global footprint, long-term commercial relationships, and increasing operational complexity. The next phase of growth is centered on execution, scalability, and operational maturity, rather than product invention. English is the primary business language across leadership, operations, and all cross-functional collaboration. 

Context for the role

The COO role is being created to support the company’s transition from successful global scale-up to world-class operating organisation. The COO will play a central role in professionalizing execution, aligning commercial demand with product and operational delivery, and building scalable systems and leadership depth. 

This is: 

• A hands-on, execution-focused leadership role. 

• A built-and-scale mandate. 

• A close partnership with the CEO, CCO, and CTO. 

What you’ll do

You will have end-to-end ownership of global operations, including: 

• Acting as the primary operational bridge between Commercial (Sales & Account Management) and Product & Technology. 

• Translating commercial demand into clear, executable operational plans. 

• Owning and scaling: 

  • Global shoe scanning operations.

  • Shoe data creation, validation, enrichment, and lifecycle management. 

  • Customer & technical support operations.

  • Hardware, supply chain, logistics, and external suppliers.

  • Demand planning and capacity management.

  • Quality assurance across all operational outputs.

• Establishing operational KPIs, reporting, and performance rhythms. 

• Building structure and clarity without introducing heavy bureaucracy.  

Ideal candidate profile

Experience 

• 15+ years of experience in senior operations or general management roles. 

• Background in technology-driven, platform, SaaS, or data-intensive environments. 

• Proven experience scaling international, multi-country operations. 

• Strong track record working closely with commercial and product/engineering teams. 

• Experience in scale-up or growth-stage companies strongly preferred. 

Leadership style 

• Hands-on, pragmatic, and execution-oriented. 

• Comfortable operating with lean teams and high ownership. 

• Naturally bridges commercial, technical, and operational perspectives. 

• Calm under pressure; effective in ambiguous and fast-changing environments. 

• Detail-oriented while maintaining strong strategic oversight.
